Eversley Invitational Basketball Tournament

About EIBT

The Eversley Invitational is an 16+ basketball tournament that is put on by myself and other very selfless people. The tournament usually takes place every May and all proceeds go towards the Stollery Children’s Hospital. In 2008 there were 20 teams competing, the year before 8, and the year before that it was only 4. It’s amazing how word of mouth carries things…

The tournament started as we used to play around a lot at an outdoor court near my house and usually there were a lot of people there. One day someone said “It would be sweet if we got a tournament going. I am sure lots of people would come.” Then a few years went by, and no one did anything about it, so I gave it a shot. For the first tournament I just made a small bracket of 4 teams. Now it has reached 23 teams of 3-5 players and we are getting a solid surplus of entry fees that I donate to charity every year.

This event has no signs of letting up thanks to everybody’s interest in the game of basketball and helping those that are in need. I am being approached and called by people I do not even know wondering when the next one is. Without even advertising too much, word of mouth is nurturing this cause thanks to all of you! I really appreciate the help and support I am getting and hope I can keep these going for quite a while.

Thanks again.
